Apparently a workaholic like the rest of us, Julien Macdonald said his S/S16 RTW collection shown at London Fashion week was inspired by a long overdue vacation to Bali. “I properly chilled out for the first time in my life.” But a little work ended up happening anyway.

The designer took inspiration from the tranquility, traditional textiles and batiks, and “raw natural beauty” found during his stay. But he didn’t stop there – he took the looks and he added edgy, dark elements to them creating a stunning, semi-glam rock feel. I love a runway show that is just as much art as it is fashion.

Intricate prints and metallic palettes took up every inch of bodycon minis and midi dresses, as well as skin peeking body suits. The collection was sexy and party-ready, evolving into gorgeous textured metallic gowns and a finale look of a white jumpsuit with a feathered matching train.
