The Resort 2017 lineup was a clear departure from the recent Givenchy aesthetic. With Naples as the backdrop, the collection struck a balance between ritz and grit, sophistication and sport.

Think less haute athleisure, more techno underground music scene. A few looks have romantic elements added like the ruffle panel, or the white layered lace bomber.

What a statement Riccardo Tisci makes when he takes on such a genre. Juxtaposing designer looks in the seedy parts of town. Elevating garments tailored for the societal rebels and individuals who by their very nature reject the culture that Tisci himself is part of.

The collection itself displays a wide range between elegant and underground. Favorites: An exaggerated arch shoulder jacket with exposed seams and peplum meets a pencil skirt with a zig zag slit embellished with giant pearls. A blush military style front-zip mini dress is layered by a sheer plissé duster with parachute fabric bomber sleeves. A pearly pink meshed paillette sheath dress is elevated by the most amazing green woven moto jacket.
The looks have all the craftsmanship of the Givenchy house, yet Tisci is rewriting the code, and it is definitely speaking to me.

I’m loving these pieces http://www.thecreativebukei.wordpress.com
Some of these pieces are so beautiful and some are just chaotic. I’m not really following his thread but I certainly appreciate the idea factory here.
