Natalie Portman has been making the circuit to promote her latest film and directorial debut in A Tale of Love & Darkness. Despite being Miss Dior herself, Portman has a hit and miss style history and this week has been no different.
Heading into Good Morning America, Natalie wore a mint collared blouse and matching mini skirt. Not a traffic stopping fashion moment, but a smart look if perhaps a little prim. The accessories were absolutely on point though.
Later that day, she switched into a similar skirt suit, this time white with floral embroidery. I liked this look a little better because it hugged her curves. She wore the same shoes and bag, but added those fab silver rimmed sunglasses.
Then, the actress/director appeared at the premiere of the film in, of course, more Dior. This time it was a sleeveless ivory classic tea length A-line with an origami fold neckline. I love the dress. And I want to love it on Natalie. But…the proportions on her…perhaps her style of posing? I can’t quite put my finger on why it’s off, but this looks a bit like a child dressing up in her mother’s clothes. So for me, it’s an almost win. Love the shoes, just not with that dress.
For the after party, she did a quick change to a shorter white lace embroidered dress with peasant sleeves. Natalie seems to go for the simple and feminine. Again, no major wow moment, but she looks pretty and comfortable after what must have been an incredibly long day!
