BEST DRESSED

Cynthia Erivo ~ Dress: Paolo Sebastian // Jewelry: Tiffany and Co.

How can you not love this? It’s a total piece of artwork, and she just looks fabulous.

Darby Stanchfield ~ Dress: Georges Chakra // Clutch: Rubeus Milano

Love, love, love. The movement of this dress is stunning, and Darby’s styling is fantastic. I love the pop of blue in the major statement earrings, and that they aren’t giant glimmering diamonds, but something different for the red carpet. And that hair – loose, a little curl, but glossy and sophisticated. Love this look.

Emma Roberts ~ Dress: Vintage Armani // Jewelry: Swarovski

The texture of this dress is fantastic, and the cumberbund and deep plunge accentuates Emma’s silhouette so well. I love her classic bombshell styling her with the lightly sideswept ‘do.

Taraji P. Henson ~ Dress: Alberta Ferretti // Jewelry: Nirav Modi

Um…seriously, Taraji. She is just perfection in this dress. Voluptuous, classic, and so chic. And of course, velvet is having its moment right now. The bib statement necklace is just the perfect size for the proportions, and her hair is so gorgeous. I just can’t with this woman!

Leslie Mann ~ Dress: Zac Posen

Hey Emma Watson, I found your missing Belle gown! Zac Posen was hoarding it for Leslie Mann’s Oscars red carpet moment. Eh, I thought you looked fab anyway.

Kirsten Dunst ~ Dress: Dior

Classic French fit and flare fab, I just can’t help loving when Dior goes classic. They could have gone just a touch softer on the harsh tones with Kirsten’s makeup, but she still looks fantastic.

Jessica Biel ~ Dress: Kaufmanfranco // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman // Necklace: Tiffany and Co.

I know these oil spill/distressed metallic dresses are hot and cold for people. But for me, they are hot and Jessica looks stunning. And the Tiffany collar necklace really perfects the total outfit.

Octavia Spencer ~ Dress: Marchesa

Whaaaat?! Marchesa dressed Octavia Spencer?! Yes! She looks amazing. Absolutely amazing. I am so thrilled that someone who is not a size 00000 got a legit custom designer gown experience, and oh my goodness, does she look stunning.

Emma Stone ~ Dress: Givenchy // Earrings: Tiffany and Co.

Yes! The fringe, the beading, the embroidery…I love it all. Another classic look here, and Emma looks perfect. And that has to be a really fun dress to dance in!

Alicia Vikander ~ Dress: Louis Vuitton // Necklace: Bulgari

You know, Louis Vuitton is doing a lot better with the red carpet this season! I’m sure this is another hit or miss dress for people, but the level of detail, the way that it frames her silhouette, the tiers of ruffles without being over the top…I really like it.

Priyanka Chopra ~ Dress: Ralph & Russo // Jewelry: Lorraine Schwartz

I fell in love with this dress on the runway, and I feel just as mushy about it when I see it on Priyanka. In every shot I saw her in, she just looked amazing in this dress. It’s so riveting and unique. So jealous. I want this dress!

Viola Davis ~ Dress: Armani Prive // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman

Another fashion win for Viola Davis! She seems to enjoy sticking to monochromatic looks, but she always looks stellar. The neckline shows off her great shoulders, and it hugs her body to show off that tiny waist of hers. Absolutely gorgeous.

Brie Larson ~ Dress: Oscar de la Renta

Va-va-voom, Brie! The cascading ruffles, the severe V neckline, and the train all create high drama. I only wish her hair was a little more sophisticated for the dress.

Sofia Boutella ~ Dress: Chanel

Chanel. Sparkle. Feathers. Need I say more?

Sofia Carson ~ Dress: Monique Lhuillier

It’s a simple tiered ball gown with sequin embellishments at the bottom of each tier, but she looks stunning from head to toe!

WORST DRESSED

Felicity Jones ~ Dress: Dior

I love the ballerina look just as much as anybody, but the proportions of this particular silhouette just weren’t doing Felicity any favors. Plus girl, those shoes.

Dakota Johnson ~ Dress: Gucci

It’s the bow. The vintage high-neck silhouette is actually quite becoming, but that giant satin bow splayed out across her nether regions just kills it.

Janelle Monae ~ Dress: Elie Saab

Now y’all KNOW I love me some Elie Saab, and I usually love Janelle Monae for being a risk taker on the red carpet. But this time, it landed her on the worst dressed list. It looks like her boobs have feathers popping out of them. The skirt of this gown is absolutely gorgeous, but the top…the top. If the top were done better, she would have made it on the best dressed list.

Halle Berry ~ Dress: Versace // Shoes: Vince Camuto // Jewelry: Forevermark

There’s just way too much going on here. The dress has great elements, but combined are overpowering. Add those to the major hair, and it’s just too much. Love you Halle, but this look would have been amazing if it had been pared down just a bit.

Naomie Harris ~ Dress: Calvin Klein // Jewelry: Bulgari

Eeek. Short flat dress with bra top and train? It’s just not what I would pick for a major red carpet.

Blanca Blanco ~ Dress Ivan Bitton

I actually love the dress. But I had no choice. Ladies, when you wear a dress with a high slit, make sure the good china is put away with some nude tone underwear…or any undies, really!
