The camel toe. We need to talk about this.

It first became trendy (YES, I know) in Asia, which makes sense. A lot of the zany, wacky, just plain bizarre fashion moments can find their roots there – often from Tokyo. I don’t know what it is about the camel toe that made them actually respond positively to the first product…but, unfortunately for us they did. Like crazy. And it got so big that now it’s creating a buzz in the West. It’s reached our shores. And there’s only one thing I want to know.

What did we do to deserve this?

At first, I just thought the viral photos were just a far away, distant concept that wouldn’t reach our doorstep. Those crazies over there! It was funny when I thought it wouldn’t spread to here. I was wrong.

Exhibit A: Kendall Jenner. While hitting a flea market in Los Angeles with friend Paris Jackson, Kendall was spotted with – what I can only assume is intentional – camel toe.

Exhibit B: Chloe Grace Moretz. More forgivable, Chloe was wearing workout gear, and her running pants were catching some toe. Hopefully unintentional, but the offense happened after the break of the new viral trend. Plus she has quite a few questionable looks recently with similar nether region cinching going on.

A complete 20-piece eyeshadow wardrobe in one chic tarteist™ palette.

Exhibit C: Kylie Jenner. Also in workout gear, but less forgivable. She intentionally pulled her shorts up high (caught on video), creating the awful wardrobe blunder.

Exhibit D: Nicki Minaj. In a selfie posted on instagram, Nicki shows she’s obviously aware (and proud?) of her camel toe.

Exhibit E: Kate Beckinsale. Another repeat offender, Kate has quite a few of these looks happening in recent street style photos. And she has been continuously embracing the major fashion faux pas of wearing leggings (while not working out) without something long enough to cover your lady parts. After seeing all these pics, she (hopefully inadvertently) learns why this is a fashion rule. Camel. Toe.

::sigh::

Move on quickly, trend. Move on. NOTHING to see here.
