The DVF Awards are less than a decade old, but they carry a powerful punch. Diane von Furstenberg created them with the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation to recognize and support extraordinary women who are dedicated to transforming the lives of other women; women who have had the courage to fight, the power to survive, and the leadership to inspire.

This year’s recipients are some pretty amazing people. Jane Goodall took home the Lifetime Achievement award for her transformative work with chimpanzees. Baljeet Sandhu received an International Award for creating the Migrant & Refugee Children’s Legal Unit (MiCLU)* a specialist legal, policy and education hub protecting and promoting the rights of children and young people displaced by war, who must flee abuse and violence or are victims of human trafficking.

And I had no idea Karlie Kloss (who took home the Inspiration Award) founded Kode With Klossy in 2015 to engage, empower, and prepare women and girls to learn code, while expanding access to coding education and opportunities. Pretty cool.

And the red carpet was chic as ever. Stars like Kate Bosworth, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Allison Williams worked their magic, all looking pretty.dang.fab. And I am LOVING Kate Bosworth‘s iridescent color block dress. Best dressed? She’s competing with Karlie Kloss for that title with me.
