Christian Siriano is becoming known as a designer that caters to very specific niches of fashion consumers. Perhaps a little off-beat, but with a penchant and purse strings for luxury. Inclusive of all body types and sizes. And he has a tendency to move towards fairy tale, saccharine style on one extreme to modernist minimalism on the other.
For his Spring 2018 bridal collection, Siriano created 16 looks that tapped into these concepts with something for all of his bridal followers. On the traditional end, there are the princess moments, like a petal bust gown with handkerchief hem sheer layers, a full skirted off-the-shoulder number, and a few frothy tulle skirts with major texture corset tops.
For the modern minimalist, there was a sleek silk crepe jumpsuit with a bead and crystal embroidered capelet. That same bead and crystal embroidery design found its way on an off-the-shoulder column gown with a detachable tulle skirt/train, embellished with the same pattern in sequins.
And for the major wow moment brides, Siriano offered a similar version of his ombré gown created for Lydia Hearst, another subtle ombré moment, this time in cream over fluffy clouds of tulle. A silver bead and crystal embroidered bodice created a sharp M neckline around cropped tulle, creating a floral effect in the center. The same silver embellishment created a wide belt before the frothy tulle cascaded down to knee length above another floor length layer of straight tulle. Definitely a wow dress meant for the bold bride.
