After reaching for bigger, better, more thrilling, more awe inspiring, the setting of the latest Chanel couture runway show was…very subtle. Still just as grand, Karl Lagerfeld chose to whisk his guests away to a classic French garden – the perfect escape for times like these.
And the clothes fit into the set perfectly from head to toe. Rose-topped blusher veils in vintage mesh fell atop pastel looks in an impressive display of silhouettes both voluminous as a caricature down to the tapered and narrowness as that of a child. Under all of the ornate beading, feathers, crystal embellishments is a certain sense of whimsy here in the shapes.
Highlights were the silver crystal beaded jumpsuit and overall dress (with pockets) both sure to make a splash in the millennial crowd, the white tweed circle collar dress, the magenta ribbon dress with rose hued beads, the drop waist gown with a bead band across the bust, and those dreamy new IT-boots covered in crystal beading.
And seriously I didn’t get enough of those boots.
