Meghan Markle knows how to work her style magic, and ever since stepping into the British royalty limelight with fiancé Prince Harry, she’s been stepping up her forward-thinking fashion game to greater heights. Old school traditionalists would prefer her in a dress, but really… really?
She looks fantastic, and if this were any one of Hollywood’s actresses or the First Ladies, no one would bat an eye. And yes, with one’s station comes certain responsibilities, yada, yada. But for one, Prince Harry doesn’t strike me as the type who has ever taken those propriety responsibilities but so seriously. And two, in this century a woman – even a woman semi-attached to a royal household – should be just fine to wear pants. Or whatever the heck she wants…and look fabulous doing so. I swear the world will not end, those pants look damn good, and Markle is still representing your royal brand like a pro. Ahem, let me just get down off this soap box here….
Did I mention she was actually doing something pretty awesome? Honoring the achievements of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women who have participated in athletic challenges over the past year, Markle presented at the annual Endeavour Fund Awards – a noble cause in my book. She attended the event with Prince Harry at her side, and she. just. looked. fabulous.

The cropped and tapered cigarette pants gave her legs a mile-high effect, amplified by a pair of 4″ high black suede Manolo pumps. And the key to this look was the jacket perfectly tailored to just below the hips, creating the hourglass, as well as masking any imperfections. (Not that MM has any, but it’s a great combo for those who are looking to mask a few extra pounds.)
