There are so many amazing places to visit in Australia, and the Gold Coast is a premiere destination for an exciting, diverse, and luxurious getaway. Situated on the east coast of Australia in Queensland, the Gold Coast offers a landscape suited for almost every traveler’s preference – mountains, national parks, waterfalls, canals, gorgeous beaches, wildlife, a thriving city full of culture, shopping and entertainment…you name it, you can probably experience it there.

With such robust offerings, it’s no surprise that the area has quite a few amazing luxury resorts. My favorite? My dear, when you combine luxury waterfront accommodations with one of my favorite fashion houses, the result is unforgettable.\n\n

\n\nAs a fashionphile, of course my top choice is Palazzo Versace, the visual brainchild of renowned fashion designer Gianni Versace, created with perfection and precision by the Sunland Group. Sheer opulence is the only way to describe the architecture and furnishings of this grand waterfront hotel.

In addition to its premier location, Palazzo Versace offers a full service spa with heated plunge pool, a five-star marina, fitness center, four restaurants, ballrooms, and a divine pool with cabana services. Every inch of this hotel is absolute luxury – an experience unto itself, so it could be easy to find yourself not wanting to leave to explore the local area. If there’s a beautiful pool, constant sunny weather, and a spa involved in my travels, I’m perfectly content to never leave the resort. C’est la vie, there’s always tomorrow! The cherry on top? Palazzo Versace offers a Sunday champagne brunch, and afternoon tea service. Add top notch food and spirits to the mix, and I’m bound to miss the entire trip.

The hotel offers rooms, suites, and up to three bedroom condominiums. The Imperial Suite lives up to its name, with marble and stone throughout, rich fabrics, a private waterfront balcony with loungers, and a personal dining room with optional private butler service. For more space, three-bedroom condominiums are available with quite the list of amenities including full-size kitchens, exclusive use of a private berth at the marina, as well as choice of a private heated plunge pool or rooftop terrace with jacuzzi. Ah, absolutely gorgeous. If only I could travel year round to places like this.

  1. For somewhere else to stay at the Gold Coast which is not quite as over-the-top but still pretty posh, I would highly recommend the Sheraton Mirage – and it’s directly across the road from the Palazzo Versace!

  2. Very fancy place, lots of inspiration can be taken from here
