A fashion house after my own heart, Daks showcased a S/S 2016 RTW collection inspired by 1920’s Art Deco design at London Fashion Week. The show started with a marble print patterned dress followed by a several looks with a pattern reminiscent of diamond pinwheel porcelain tile. Chiffon dresses looked just a tad flapperish, and the color palette of greys, white, black and a muted blue made the collection feel frozen in time. I loved the rust brown suede portion of the looks, but I have to admit that paired with the rest of the looks, they seemed out of place (70’s/20’s mashup?) and made the collection feel a bit disjointed. Favorite looks were the marble print skirt with a crisp white blouse, the black and white tile pattern plunge neck dress with silver trim, the matching caftan, and grey caped top and pant.\n
