Alexander Wang’s final collection for Balenciaga was light, delicate, and all in shades of alabaster. Silks, linens and cottons were intricately ruched, shirred, draped, smocked, and ladder stitched, yet undone in a boudoir sensuality. The house of Balenciaga took the slip dress trend of the season and absolutely owned it. Still, it wasn’t total girly and flirty; there were masculine elements balancing the collection as well, with relaxed cargo pants, loose jackets and pullovers, racer back tops, and long button-down boyfriend shirts. Instead of going out with a bang, Alexander Wang decided to leave Balenciaga with a fabulous whisper lingering in the air of Paris Fashion Week.
