Best Dressed
Alicia Vikander in custom Louis Vuitton - Jason Merritt - Getty

Alicia Vikander absolutely slayed the red carpet in this custom Louis Vuitton. The strapless dusty yellow with silver metallic embellishments looked stunning against her skin, and the bubble skirt at the bottom hit at a great height and proportion. Bubble skirts are hard to pull off, but I felt the whole look worked really well.

Dorith Mous in Dennis Diem - Kevork Djansezian - Getty

I don’t know who you are, Dorith Mous (just being real here), but I love your gown, so I think I’m about to get to know who you are! She wore this black Dennis Diem (of Amsterdam) with a stunning lace bodice. She needs to win something just for this gown and that gorgeous side swept hair.

Lara Spencer in Roland Mouret - Jason Merritt - Getty

Can I just say that Lara Spencer has a smoking hot body? I mean, I kinda want her abs. You have to be really fit to pull off this Roland Mouret gown – you can literally see the definition in her abs. She’s just rocking it. May have ended up on the worst dressed list if someone else tried to pull this off, but good thing for Lara, she’s obviously owning the gym right now. Get it, girl!

Olivia Wilde in Valentino - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

I keep going back and forth on Olivia Wilde in this white pleat Valentino gown with a plunging neckline. It’s a boxy silhouette and the waist sits high, so it shortens her. But the gown moved so beautifully, and I love the pleats. So she’s staying in the best dressed category for me.

The choker trend has been playing out on the Fall 2016 RTW runways, and it’s perfect timing that she tries it out with this beautiful piece instead of opting for a long necklace.

Naomi Watts in Armani - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP

Naomi Watts looked like an ethereal mermaid in this sequinned Armani gown. I’m not so sure about the jewels that she decided to pair with the gown, but the rest of her looks gorgeous.

Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney - Jason Merritt - Getty

Olivia Munn opted for a simple monochromatic orange-red one shoulder Stella McCartney, which I’m oddly in love with. And her Forevermark diamond serpent bracelet was the perfect accent against the red. I wish she would have done a little more with her hair, but the rest of it totally works.

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa - Jason Merritt - Getty

Sofia Vergara looked voluptuous in this sweetheart midnight blue Marchesa gown. With how much was going on between the jeweled embellishments and the ruching of the bustline, I thought it was perfect that Sofia opted for no necklace, and large (and gorgeous!) statement earrings by Lorraine Schwartz.

Maria Menounos in Christian Siriano - Ethan Miller - Getty.jpgMaria Menounos was also wearing white on the red carpet in this shell patterned Christian Siriano gown that hugged her curves. Is anyone else thinking how much she looks like Sandra Bullock here?

Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

Did Saoirse Ronan get some work done? Or is it just the color change of her hair? Either way, she looked phenomenal from head to toe. She wore this emerald Calvin Klein with a swirl detail you can’t quite pick up in the photograph that reminds me of the Starry Night painting. I love this silhouette and color on her and with her styling completely on point, she just absolutely kills it with this look.

Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad - Jason Merritt - Getty.jpg

Priyanka Chopra is another celeb wearing white in this Zuhair Murad sweetheart sheer floral gown. I love the metallic film strip belt, and I seriously want to steal this dress. Be right over, Pri!

Chrissy Teigen in Marchesa - Jason Merritt - Getty.jpg

A very pregnant Chrissy Teigen looked beautiful in this nude faux sheer Marchesa with burgundy floral embroidery. The design looks so good on her baby bump, and the whole look just makes me smile!

Cate Blanchett in Armani - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP

I have a feeling this gown is going to be hot and cold for fashion reviewers. Cate Blanchett hasn’t had a lot of fortune on the red carpet lately, and I’m not really feeling the 3D floral explosion trend lately…but I have to admit, I like this Armani gown on her. Do I have a fever? She styled it perfectly, and I love her hair!

Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpgAnother stunning emerald gown, this one an August Getty Atelier worn by the fabulous Rachel McAdams. This is another one of those looks that can only be pulled off by someone with a stellar physique, and Rachel just looks amazing. Her hair color looks wonderful on her, but I do wish she’d gone a little bit more textured with her hair.

Jennifer Garner - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

Jennifer Garner looked classic Hollywood glamorous in this black Atelier Versace off the shoulder/one shoulder gown. The Neil Lane jewels added just the right amount of bling. Just stunning.

Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell - Jason Merritt - Getty

I love it when Lady Gaga goes old Hollywood. Her hair looks amazing, and I really like this sculptured strapless jumpsuit gown combo by Brandon Maxwell. It’s unique and different, but gorgeous and not over the top crazy. Love her in this!

Reese Witherspoon- Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

Reese Witherspoon went for purple and she looks beautiful in this strapless Oscar de la Renta gown with a ruffled bustline. The Tiffany and Co. jewels certainly don’t hurt either.  I’m not going to lie. I wore something very similar to one of my proms. So maybe I’m partial.

Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren - Jason Merritt - Getty

Kate Winslet wore this metallic water effect Ralph Lauren gown. She was one of the late arrivals, so she may have been rushed and didn’t have her train pulled back, but she looked amazing on screen in this gown. And I love the blonde on her!

Charlize Theron in Dior - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

Charlize Theron looked stunning in this red deep plunge Dior gown. She had a gorgeous blonde side sweep and her necklace choice was a beautiful sparkling diamond necklace that popped between the red.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior - Noel West - New York Times.jpg

Fashionably late but worth the wait, the ever gorgeous Dior brand ambassador, Jennifer Lawrence looked phenomenal in this black lace tier gown. She is certainly in my top 5 for the evening!

Mindy Kaling in Elizabeth Kennedy - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP

I think this is the best red carpet look I’ve ever seen on Mindy Kaling. From the front, it was a good color block look, not amazing. But from the back, Mindy‘s train is stunning!

Worst Dressed

Stephanie Bauer in Portia & Scarlett - Rick Rowell - ABC.jpgI hate to say this, because I love this dress, but Stephanie Bauer made the worst dressed list in this Portia & Scarlett emerald gown. And I am such a fan of the flower petal bustline trend…but girl. You should have gone one size larger, and it would have fit so much better. It just makes me sad, because it’s accentuating all the areas you don’t want accentuated.

Julianne Moore in Chanel - Jason Merritt - Getty.jpg

Again, a dress I love, but just not the right fit. Julianne Moore wore this Chanel gown, which I absolutely adored on the runway, but I just don’t think it’s the right gown for Julianne. The proportions feel off, and the halter style doesn’t seem very flattering for her.

Jennifer Jason Leigh - Jason Merritt - Getty.jpg

Oh the color. Jennifer Jason Leigh chose the wrong color, and this pastel pink just washes her out.

Heidi Klum in Versace - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

This pains me to say. Heidi, I love you. Seriously. But. I just can’t with this dress. It may be Versace, but it should go back in the closet.

Emily Blunt in Prada - Jason Merritt - Getty.jpg

Emily Blunt, what are you doing? This is Prada, but Prada was wrong. You were in The Devil Wears Prada, so I expected more from you. Pregnancy does not mean you get to look like this.

Amy Poehler in Andrew Gn - Jordan Strauss - Invision - AP.jpg

Amy Poehler, you’re still one of my favorite funny girls, but not in this Andrew Gn. Even if it does have a cape.
