Maybe Miranda Priestly didn’t think florals for Spring were groundbreaking, but these celebs show us looks this season that take those petals to perfection. If you’re looking to revamp your wardrobe and add some fresh feminine flowers, here are the best trends of the Spring 16 season.

1. The Modern Cut

The Look ~ Dress: Zimmermann (similar by same designer) // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman

Actress Ali Larter was out and about for Mothers Day (with a debatable sign) wearing this white floral Zimmermann corset dress. The combination of the modern exposed seam corset, white base with just a hint of floral print, and the handkerchief skirt make this dress feel fresh.

She wore it with nude Stuart Weitzman heels, which I swear, every celebrity must get issued a pair of when they join the celeb fashionista sorority. I keep seeing them, and I love them so it’s a slow torture.

2. The High Neck Mod

There was definitely a strong sense of 60’s and 70’s vintage on the S/S 2016 runways with the busy prints, high necks, color combos, embroidery, and mod dress silhouettes.

Jessica Alba went this route when she was out for a little Sunday brunch with the fam. She wore a high neck floral Alice + Olivia dress with a pair of on trend chunky heel sandals in an almost mauve neutral tone. She carried a pink Louis Vuitton shoulder bag, adding just a little extra pop of girly, which quite frankly is unexpected from Alba. She usually goes for the edgy elements.

3. The Longline Vest

Nobody is as fashion forward as Olivia Palermo, and if she’s wearing it now, you know it’s probably going to be an up and coming trend. Last week she was spotted wearing one of her own designs from her Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28 summer collection – a black woodcut floral longline vest over a navy blue peasant sleeve top and leather pants.

She completed the look with a burgundy Hermes bag and a pair of Moncler Gamme Rouge floral sneakers she’s been spotted wearing tons of times, so she must be obsessed with them.

4. The Stained Glass Lace

The Look ~ Shirt: Emanuel Ungaro // Skirt: Emanuel Ungaro // Shoes: Gianvito Rossi // Bag: Flynn Louie

Nina Dobrev recently attended an event wearing floral lace motif separates with a Tiffany stained glass look. The muted color of the lace against the crisp white and the black mesh paneling of the skirt give this look a fresh new take on blossom patterns.

She made the look pop with a square red bag by Flynn Louie, which was the perfect coral tone. And the pointed toe white pumps were really the best shoe to go with for this look. If you gravitate more to the modern minimalist looks, but still want to give the florals a try, find a cutout or lace look like this one in black and white or muted tones- so chic!

5. The Chunky Heel

I’ve been seeing the chunky heel on a lot of celebs this season. Jessica Alba loves her Saint Laurents (above) so much she actually has another pair in black as well. Beyonce loves them too, and she wore a floral version with a mustard yellow off-the-shoulder Roberto Cavalli dress in her internet-breaking video, Lemonade.
