The Emmy’s red carpet was impressive. Celebrities were stepping out in stunning looks, but some inventive ones too – a few didn’t play it safe this year, and it was an interesting and varied show of mostly winning looks. So picking the best dressed list this year was hard (unlike last year!)
And a few of these pieces, you can actually shop straight from the red carpet. (Links below each look!)

BEST DRESSED
Sarah Hyland in Monique Lhuillier and Lorraine Schwartz jewels
I am just loving her in this gown. The double trains down the side with those modern floral pops that aren’t over the top…it’s just striking the perfect balance with me. She looks fantastic!

–
Emily Ratajkowski in Zac Posen
Just another example of the model posse showing the rest of us how it’s done. Va va vixen, Ms. Emily Ratajkowski! I love the way the sculptural top ruches down into a beautiful mermaid, creating a statuesque silhouette…and the color is perfect. This is my favorite for the night from Zac Posen.

–
Kerry Washington in Brandon Maxwell and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes
The baby bump cutout is so incredibly flattering. No matter which way Kerry Washington turned, she looked absolutely gorgeous in this gown, and I thought this was a fantastically creative cut for a preggo mama. Finally, a designer designing for a woman going through one of the most beautiful moments of her life instead of trying to design around her.

–
Kristen Bell in Zuhair Murad
Just stunning. Watching her walk, I had no words. She looked absolutely beautiful in this, and as you can imagine if you didn’t get to see it live, it had such graceful movement!

–
Priyanka Chopra in Jason Wu
Enough said. I could watch her twirl all night in this.

–
Aimee Teegarden in Kaufmanfranco and Norman Silverman jewelry
Loved this minimalist look! Especially the way the skirt wrapped very subtly to create a curve instead of a straight slit, adding great curves to the silhouette. And the shape of the bodice draping down to the cutouts…a hard look to pull off, but she’s in stellar shape, so she looks amazing.

–
Claire Danes in Schiaparelli
Claire Danes looks fantastic, and I’m a sucker for a little glitter and glitz. The goddess silhouette looks fantastic on her athletic shape, and I love the added piece that pops up from the neckline to make a little necklace. It’s an unexpected little detail that I didn’t notice at first, but made me enjoy the look even more.

–
Regina King in Elizabeth Kennedy
Regina King looked fantastic last night. First, her gown was stellar – every angle was flattering, and I am definitely a fan of a voluminous short train…and during the interview I was just shocked by her guns! This woman definitely works out. Gorgeous!

–
Emilia Clarke in Atelier Versace
Perfection. That is all.

–
Constance Wu in J. Mendel
I just can’t help loving this look. It’s fun, laid back, but red carpet at the same time. Definitely says “I have fantastic style, but I’m also a girl you’d want to hang out with”.

–
Olivia Culpo in Zac Posen
Ok, you know what I said earlier about Ratajkowski’s gown being my favorite? Maybe I lied.

There were also some standout looks that didn’t quite make the best dressed list. And unfortunately…there were a few worst dressed as well!
