The Altuzarra Spring 2017 RTW collection was meant to bring a little levity back into the public conversation. With all the conflict and friction in the public forum, especially with the upcoming election, why not inject a little light-hearted fun?
The looks were cheeky and coquettish, with vibrant and vintage-nodding patterns like the cherry bomb as well as a little modern edge like python and leather. A few stellar trench coats and a military jacket balance the season’s new trend of bra tops, the Altuzarra choice worn over striped or ruffle-hemmed pencil skirts.

Stripes were also a staple, and despite the stereotype that horizontal stripes aren’t flattering, the thinness of the lines creates a visual draw that highlights curves while the large belt draws the eye in to the waist. The off the shoulder element also helps as it slightly widens the visual at the top of the frame. Pretty smart. It’s a great look to try in the Spring season, and it’s so nice to see curves being appreciated! My ice cream moments thank Altuzarra.
