Watching some of the designer runways, I get the impression that they just don’t have the ability to create a ready to wear collection. It’s just not in their blood. They must show their art, in its highest form, and sometimes without much consideration to how it actually accentuates the body wearing it.

Marissa Webb is not that designer. She actually doesn’t look for high level inspirations to her collections as a whole at all, but just seeks to design garments for the “modern New York woman”. And her Spring 2017 RTW collection is incredibly feminine, classic, and flattering…something most would probably love to wear.

Feminine silhouettes in neutral tones were embellished with ruffles in delicate looks of silk and leather. The military style olive drab bomber is a new take on the Fall bomber trend. The high-waist leather cropped pants are a wardrobe must as well as the nude skirt version with an off-center slit. Low slouch cream silk pants not only look fabulous, but seem like perhaps the most comfortable pair of gorgeous work-ready, play-ready closet staple trousers you could wear. A chartreuse silk top has a scoop neck that is tied at the top with structured ruffles running down the sleeves to a pair of high-waist black shorts, creating a fantastic silhouette.
