It was a wide range of looks on the People’s Choice Awards red carpet last night in LA. From a faux leather baby bump to a fringe mini to full glam, it was all there. And a lot of black this year. But boring is not the word I’d call this red carpet. These ladies came to show off their personalities. Scroll down to see The Luxe Lookbook’s best and worst dressed!

Jennifer Lopez ~ Dress: Reem Acra // Shoes: Brian Atwood // Bag: Salvatore Ferragamo // Jewelry: H. Stern

JLo absolutely looks divine here from head to toe. The curvature of the jeweled bodice, the way the dress hugs her curves, the statement (but semi-subtle) sleeves are all perfection. Beautiful!

Jamie Chung ~ Dress: Martha Medeiros // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman // Bag: Edie Parker (here and here) // Jewelry: Jennifer Meyer, Hueb, and Csarite by Ana Katarina

I’m just in love with this dress. It definitely doesn’t look like we’re in the middle of winter with this bright and cheerful yellow lace. The oversized flower pattern create a great visual as well as the cutout and high slit. And the color is gorgeous on Jamie’s skin.

Cheryl Burke

Sensual, sexy, and romantic – it’s just a fabulous dress. A little off center on the top, but fabulous!

Azie Tesfai

Ok, so this doesn’t scream red carpet dream, but I just can’t keep this dress off the best list. The strong shoulders with the Fifth Element stone design (yes!), the plunge neck, the sexy pencil skirt, outlined with the same shoulder design along the waist and hips…it’s just a sexy dress for a strong woman…in pink. YES. I wish she would have picked different shoes, but still, YES.

Camilla Luddington ~ Dress: Heidi Merrick // Shoes: Casadei // Jewelry: Established Jewelry

So I think Camilla Luddington gets the best baby bump dress I’ve seen on the red carpet ever. Most soon-to-be mamas go for the demure, the saccharine sweet, and I love the edgy approach Camilla took. Plus, the way this dress outlines her shape is fantastic. She looks great.

Victoria Justice ~ Dress: Yousef al Jasmi // Shoes: Stuart Weitzman // Rings: Miansai and Swati Dhanak

Now this is a dress not only for the red carpet, but also for dancing at the after party. You know it’s going to be fun, because Victoria is going to be the best looking maraca in the band. No, but seriously the design has an almost Art Deco feel, and outlines her frame beautifully. And so much sparkle.

Blake Lively ~ Dress: Elie Saab // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Bag: Roger Vivier // Jewelry: Lorraine Schwartz

Metallic black long fringe in a mini. Need I say more? It’s probably just as much fun to wear it as it is to watch it.

Sarah Jessica Parker ~ Dress: J. Mendel // Shoes: SJP

Oh thank goodness, SJP redeemed herself after earning her spot on the worst dressed list at the Golden Globes. I love the structural piping in the corset top, and the cascading layered pleats are subdued . Love this. I wish she would have opted for a different pair of shoes, because they clash pretty harshly, but from the ankles up, it’s gorgeous! That’s what I like about her – she’s a risk taker. So her looks are either strong love or hate, but you can’t say she’s one to play it safe or be swayed by the likes of us who just sit back and throw out opinions. I have to respect that!

Fifth Harmony

Sorry ladies, but when you always dress as a set…. The girls are in varying states of being thrown together here. And the looks on their faces kind of say it all…tired, blank, not owning much of anything on this red carpet. One or two are probably bringing the collective others down…but that’s how it goes when you walk the red carpet as an ensemble!

Kristen Bell ~ Jumpsuit: Rosario // Earrings: Eva Fehren

Kristen…girl. Those look like naughty whipped cream boobs.

Andrea Barber

Sorry Kimmy Gibbler…the print of the dress is cute (like, Sunday brunch cute), but that cut isn’t very flattering for you.

Andrea Barber – Alberto E. Rodriguez-Getty

Chandra Wilson ~ Jewelry: Miranda Konstantinidou

So the concept here isn’t a bad one, but the pattern is a no go, and not matching up on both sides throws her proportions off with a droopy boob perspective that nobody wants. And the styling could be stepped up – love the blue undercut on the shoes, but the sparkly purse is just prom killing me.

Molly Shannon

No, not Molly Shannon! Not Superstar on the worst dressed list! No. I love this dress, but you know you needed one size up.

  1. got to say…what happened to good taste? I agree with a few of your best dressed, but I guess the pickins’ were slim???

    • I think the People’s Choice has come to be the award show where the stars kind of let their hair down and don’t worry as much about formality. So other than JLo, a lot of the stars wore looks I doubt they’d try on the Golden Globes or Emmys!
