An ongoing trend we continue to see on the runway is lots of lacing, ribbon, and braided rope. From lace-up details along the sides and necklines of tops to rope pulls and belts, it’s all fair game, and a great transition trend for the Fall season.

And I am l.o.v.i.n.g. this simple, but so flattering rope dress Demi Lovato the other day, who stepped out in NYC’s Tribeca district after earlier making an appearance on The Today Show at Rockefeller Center.

She’s opened up about her struggles with addiction, and now five years sober she speaks about her painful stories to “help others and inspire them to get the help they need”. Rock that brave face, girl. It takes a lot of strength to own your stuff, and stand strong while people out there safe behind screens judge you while you put your stuff out there to make sure others won’t make the same mistakes.

And while I love this story, you know it’s about the fashion for me, because I’m a sucker for good clothes. Demi wore a white sleeveless mini dress with a single braided rope that weaved from her back, low under her arm and down her right front thigh, fabulously accentuating that hourglass figure. She finished the look with a pair of metallic ankle strap sandals, worked her hair into a top knot, threw on some hoops, and she’s white hot.

And bonus, they have this dress in black too. Woo wooo!
