Pair a veteran designer/fashion icon with a young, fast-burning, shooting star model and what do you get?
Luxed up versions of clothes models actually want to wear off-duty. In this case, laid back L.A. style athleisure moments converge with studded leather and faux fur. And slogan/logo mania. Girl, they’re gonna know who you’re wearing!
Fashion visionary Karl Lagerfeld teamed up with 16-year old up-and-coming Kaia Gerber (daughter of Cindy Crawford) to create the #KarlXKaia capsule collection.
Surprisingly there were a few evening looks, with a long black maxi dress with a soft leather cutout bodice, as well as a cocktail version of the same. Simple, but sophisticated. A tuxedo blazer has sparkle twill fabric on the lapels, complemented with a removable Kaia pin.
Excitingly, the famous Lagerfeld Ikonik graphics made their way into this collection as well, with Kaia’s own persona. My favorite of the Ikonik pieces – a cheeky iPhone case of the two peeking in at you actually rings up at a cool $45. Adorbs.
But the most extra moment? A catsuit. Because…like…ya know. You never know when you might need one…like Serena Williams in the French Opens for instance. Get em, Serena.
There are also quite a bit of accessories, bags, and shoes. Even studded leather gloves. I am loving the K<< studding design that’s pretty much on every single piece of accessorized leather. If there’s one thing this collection isn’t short of, it’s branding, and the studding K design element just kills it here, as well as the double K earrings. Yas, girl.
Prices in the collection run from $35 to $945.
