This year’s theme – “Camp: Notes on Fashion” is basically inception, right? I mean, theatrical, over-the-top, exaggerated style is pretty much what anyone would envision when talking about the Met Gala anyway. So…maybe it would have been served better to just take a themeless year? Who knows.

One thing’s for sure, this year saw some wild red carpet moments. Check out the most exciting looks…

Ashley Graham ~ Jacket and Boots/Leggings: Gucci x Dapper Dan // Earrings: Jack Vartanian

Her legs are looking stellar in that blazer dress. Dapper Dan knows how to make Gucci’s maximalism just pop.

Lady Gaga ~ Gown(s): Brandon Maxwell

Seriously, this woman had FOUR reveals on the red carpet into entirely different outfits. There’s the usual LG extra, and then there’s Met Gala Lahady Gaaagaaa EXTRA.

Welcome back to Chapman, who made her first red carpet appearance since the scandal with her estranged husband, Harvey Weinstein. She was iced out of the social scene, and it’s nice to see her back.

Kim Kardashian ~ Dress: Mugler

This has to be my favorite “naked dress” worn by Kim Kardashian. I can’t say I’m a huge fan, but I have to admit, this look is aahhhhhhmazing. Mugler stepped it up with the falling water drop crystals so it she actually got the “wet” look she’s always going for.

Jennifer Lopez ~ Gown: Versace // Jewelry: Harry Winston

I’m telling you, they put a butt pad on JLo. She arrived with the Jenner-Kardashian clan, and I’m 90% sure of it after reviewing all the photos. Plus they trained her how to pose, but some (most) of them just weren’t working out. These were some of the best.

Janelle Monae ~ Outfit: Christian Siriano // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Jewelry: Hanut Singh

This has Janelle Monae’s signature pop art written all over it. I recognized the look before I could even see her face! Love this girl’s sense of sartorial adventure.

Zendaya ~ Gown: Tommy Hilfiger

Uhhhh….I hate to tell you Zendaya and Tommy, but this was already done. At the Met. By Zac Posen with Claire Danes and I think they did it better.  If you’re going to repeat make sure you top the last one!

I’m starting to think it wasn’t so much his character on The Assassination of Gianni Versace, but him that creeps me out a little.
